The project has been launched to develop an Action Programme to improve the cooperative management of water and related resources of the Dniester river basin.
The project is implemented by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Within the framework of this project the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities and UNECE Environmental and Human Settlements Division work in partnership with the Moldovan and Ukrainian Ministries of Environmental Protection, the Moldovan Water Concern 'Apele Moldovei', the State Committee of Ukraine for Water Management, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, sanitary-epidemiological services, and NGOs.
